Behavioral Health Programs

Trauma informed services, assisting survivors and their children throughout the healing process.

Individual and Family Therapy

DVRC provides trauma-informed, evidence-based therapeutic services for survivors of domestic violence and their families. Therapy offers a safe and supportive space to help individuals address the effects of trauma and reduce symptoms. Clinical intervention is focused on the client's individual strengths, psychoeducation, and increasing their emotional well-being. Services are designed to foster resilience, promote healing, and reclaim autonomy.

Support Groups

Our skilled counselors provide weekly support groups, both virtual and in-person. Support groups play an important role in the healing process of survivors of domestic violence by providing a safe, confidential, and trauma-informed space for support and connection. These groups help reduce isolation, foster peer validation and shared understanding, and promote emotional well-being through facilitated discussion and skill-building. Participation in support groups can strengthen coping strategies, increase self-efficacy, and contribute to improved mental health, resilience, and long-term stability.

Creative and Expressive Arts Therapy

Creative and expressive arts therapy provides survivors with alternative, non-verbal pathways for healing and self-expression. Facilitated by a trained clinician, these sessions utilize modalities such as visual art, music, movement, and writing to support emotional processing and regulation, and restoring a sense of self. This therapeutic approach complements traditional clinical services and promotes empowerment, resilience, and self-discovery in a supportive and non-judgmental environment.

Pet Therapy

DVRC offers clients of our residential programs the services of an emotional support dog to promote emotional regulation, reduce feelings of isolation and provide comfort and companionship. This modality contributes to a sense of safety, connection, and overall emotional well-being for survivors.

Trauma Informed Yoga

Through our partnership with All That Matters yoga + wellness, we are proud to offer a free Trauma-Informed Yoga program that provides survivors with a safe and supportive space for healing, reflection, and self-care. Trauma-informed yoga is offered as a complementary healing modality that supports survivors physical, emotional, and psychological well-being. This approach emphasizes empowerment and choice, helping participants regulate their nervous system, reconnect with their bodies, and restore a sense of control. This practice identifies new healthy coping strategies while fostering resilience, reducing stress, and building community among participants.
